Visual motor integration and visual perception are fundamental skills for legible handwriting. At this station, students have opportunities to practice visual motor skills in activities that emphasize letter formation. This station can be led by a teacher, special educator, or occupational therapist. The activities reinforce learning of letter formation and eye hand coordination. Most of the activities require repetition and practice of visual motor skills. The activities can be graded so that students with visual motor delays complete easier or fewer tasks. The small group format offers multiple opportunities for the instructor to provide feedback and reinforcement.
The following are activity description sheets available for the visual motor integration/visual perceptual station. Click on each activity to access the printable PDF activity sheet.
